2024 Independant wedding dress commission

Hired as a wedding dress seamstress for a custom made wedding dress. Completing the entire project from start to finish over the course of a year in close consultation with the bride. Everything from initial concepting, sketching, landing on a design, material sourcing, taking measurements, pattern making, sewing, fittings, adjustments, pressing and steaming, final fitting and delivery.

2023 World of EPI Design Intern

Remote summer intern hire for the design department of World of EPI. Working closely with two employes on their design team to concept and design new toy products. Creating various ideas for playsets, blind boxes, fashion packs and more.

Excerpt from recommendation letter written by one of the designers who I worked directly under:

“She was assigned projects that gave her a lot of creative leeway and rather than being overwhelmed, Charlotte performed with great enthusiasm and focus. She proved herself to be apen to art direction and quick to incorporate aur suggestions into her work. When necessary, she easily refocused her attention to new requests and completed them with creative flair and in a timely manner. Her wonderful imagination and attention to detail resulted in several product ideas that we plan to implement in aur future line offerings.”

2022 – 2024 Dyreparken AS Costume seamstress and assistant

Three time hire, 6 weeks of late spring season, as a full time costume seamstress. Producing quality costumes for the park’s many small performance pieces set up during the peak season. Working with lisenced Intelectual properties, producing under a creative director to fit a vision in a small team of 8 people.

Tasks include, pattern making, fabric cutting and efficient usage of available materials, garnment production, adjustments, pressing and theather break down. As well as assisting in fittings and costume trials, taking notes and communicating notes to a multiple team production, teaching actors proper costume usage and storage, and assisting in overall ensuring quality of costumes and their representation of creative vision of the intelectual property.

2022 Otis College Drawing class Assistant

Class room assistant for a drawing class focusing on 3D space and build up of shapes to form realistic objects. deep diving into perspective, proportion, negative space, composition and spacial relationships of 3D objects in traditional drawing.

A role specifically made to help the students along the way, offering real time comments and help as they draw from still life setup, as well as making demos and assisting the professor in any other way that would be beneficial to the classroom enviornment and learning outcome of the students.

2022 Otis College of Art and Design

A specialized BFA degree majoring in Toy design.

Advanced product design with a specialization for childrens products that ewoke imagination and play. Multiple classes relevant to the specifications of designing for children and what interests them. Classes on child Pshycology, History of Toys, prototyping, package design, character development, illustration: both digital and traditional, 3D modeling, various digital art softwear, anatomy and it’s implications on design, and productuion methods and materials.

In addition to several classes with design projects specified in different toy categories, Plush, Dolls, Games, Preschool toys, Action figures, and Viechles. Where the class focus on taking an idea through all the staged of development up until a finished product pitch. ideation, development, playpattern, features and function, story, explanatory drawings, and prototyping, as well as a final presentation and critique.

2021 ELIVERY Sport AS clothing design and quality analyst

Summer job as a quality and design analyst, tasked with looking over every single product sold by the business and writing paragraphs intended for end consumer, so as to understand why the quality of the product was good. Analyzing and explaining every design choice in a consise way to add to a website for easy access for potential buyers to understand why these choices benefit them. As well as putting it all into a streamlined Excel document with modular paragraphs, so the analysis could be faster and simpler in the future for new products by people with less experience withing the design and fabric field, yet still uphold the same level of quality.

2020 – 2021 High school Supplementary program

An additional High school year to build on the 4 year trade degree program, designed to supplement the academic program with additional classes to the students can move into university level education after. An intensive year program of Math, English, Norwegian, Science and History. A program in which was graduated with top marks

Elected as Student council president during this program, where the student council for the whole school was overseen and managed. Attended bi-monthly management meetings with the school, acting as a representative for the students in discussions about how the school was run and it’s financial priorities. Lead the school collective participation in a county wide program to better efforts for the climate cause, and represented the schools participation on the news.

2019 – 2020 Professional seamstress Apprenticeship: Sam Eyde VGS program

An intensive apprentisehip program in school tha full time covers high end tailoring and all tecniques connected to it. Everything from making custom base patterns from personal messuremeants of any costumer, handstiching buttonholes, embroidering, high presision pressing, fabric draping directly on dressform, pattern adjustments and tailored to body fittings of garnments.

Every garnment made in the program is tailor made to voulenteers, thus covering a large variety of people and bodytypes, and always working with an actual person in mind, both for fittings and for design decisions. what are their needs, wants and wishes, how to mesh their style and function, all questions the class are trained to ask and answer in their produced garnments.

the Apprenticeship program ends with a 60 hour exam where the apprentice completely on their own produce a garnment to fit a custumers needs and wants. the entire process from fabric selection, design and patterns drafting, to a finished garnment tailorfit to the customer in question, all completely without any consultation and with their own labor. The exam results, if passed, in a professional seamstress certificate, and was in this case passed with the highest achivable grade. The exam results are determined by an independant jury, made up by professionals covering all the exams within the county.

2018 – 2019 Professional seamstress Apprenticeship: Judy’s atelier apprentice hire

Judy’s atelier is a small business bridal store located in Kristiansand city center. working with both bridal gowns orders as well as custom made wedding gowns to order.

Worked there full time as an apprenctice for 15 months. Working on custom alterations for all the gowns sold to fit both the figure and the vision of each single customer. Being a part of several personal fittings every week, honing on the listening skills to understand vision and desire, as well as bridge the lack of formal language while discussing design and form fitting with induviduals outside of the design buisiness. Focusing on implementing the brides desire into the communication and final product rather than personal opinion.

Maintaining a high standard buitique store front. designig display cases with a full vision of how the carefully chosen products would add to the brides ideal wedding day. Opening and closing the storefront on the regular and keeping up with customer relations on the regular.

Producing costum wedding gowns from start to finish, design, patternmaking, sewing, pressing, maintance, fittings, detailing and creative problemsolving in balancing time, vision, cost and available materials.

2018 Undorn AS internship

One week working with the design and production team at Undorn AS. A high end fashion company that specializes in custome made clothing for events like red carpets, press conferances, galas and other elite events.

Working with their wonderful production team, learning from their high end production technices. Doing preparation work, by assuring the best state of their products for great presentation in their front store show room. Quality checking and maintanence of production equipment. As well as production of off the rack clothing.

2017 TSH internship

One week working with the design and production team at TSH (Tina Steffenakk Hermansen) In the norwegian capitol city of Oslo. Working closely with their prep for a big bridal expo fashion show. Doing things like detailed handsewing on high end intricate one of a kind wedding gowns. And running errands to improve customer relations.

On the final day of Saturday, I prepared for and attended the largest bridal convention and fashion show in Norway. Packing and transporting valuable and delicate wedding dresses. Working with the models pre show, providing support for them all to get ready. Labeling and organizing back stage space so that everyone involved are better able to focus on their portion of the job. As well as Assisting in setup of a display booth at the convention

2017-2018 Student business manager

Elected as student business manager in the High school sewing foundation program, managing the work hours, finances and efforts of a 5 person student business doing sewing alterations and repairs. Working on registration of the student business in the norwegian national student business registery , as well as organizing a booth on a countyfair for student business’. On said fair was interviewed by the local paper, talking about the importance of student business’ as introduction to management roles at early ages, as well as giving teens and young adult student agency and oppertunity to build something outside of the normal school curriculum. Full financial responsibility as well as product quality delivery responsibility. Sending out invoices, customer need communication

2017 – 2018 High school foundation Sewing program

The second, more specialized, year of the trade focused art high school program. With 30 weekly periods dedicated to the trades involving fabric and textiles. The program focuses heavily on sewing skills like pattern making, garnment design, material knowledge, production techniques, technical drawing, draping, pressing techniques, felting arts, embroidery, knitting, leather working, garnment redesign and repair, spinning, quilting, etc. Also having a heavy emphasis on real life exprience, multiple tours around fabric workplaces; shoemaker, sailmaker, modiste, bunad workshop, wedding dress workshop and leather workshop.

The curriculum still blended with other standard high school classes.

2016 Scantrade AS design internship

One week with the design team at scantrade AS as their intern on the design team for all their sportswear. Basic introduction to designing with Adobe illustrator, product design under the NRK lisence of jul i svingen, sample quality checking and showroom setup.

2016 Kilden Performing Arts Center costume department internship

One week with the costume department in their production workshop. Working with their talented team of seamstresses on the setup of the snowqueen theater performance for christmas 2016. Sewing name tags, organizing costumes, sewing dance props, taking part in costume fittings and a performance planning meeting.

2016 – 2017 High school foundation Art program

A foundational high school year art program, with a total of 27 periods per week focusing on artistic practices using various mediums along side the high school classes.

Curriculum with foundational artistic knowledge such as color theory, process documentation, sketching practice, compositional rules and more. As well as weekly or biweekly focus projects where students get to experiment with different mediums including; knitting, painting, pencil drawing, digital drawing, ceramics, photography, miniature model making, furniture building, wood carving and sewing.

2015 – 2018 Church confirmation assistant leader

3 consecutive years of voulenteer work as one of a small team of leaders guiding 14 year olds through the confirmational program. Weekly meetings, with responsibility for providing food and snacks, as well as arrange a connective activity that cultivates a positive and healthy enviornment for the teenagers to feel safe and welcome.

Including assisting in the organization of a yearly 5-day trip to a small village in Romania. Fundraising before the trip, keeping schedule during travel, meal planning, organizing events and activities during day and evening time, upholding quiet-time during evenings and night, and ensure smooth and timely mornings according to everyones needs and the set day schedule.

2013 – 2016 Private school

Starting fall 2013 I attended the private school Steinerskolen i Kristiansand.

The philosophy of Steinerskolen/ the Waldorf school has a high focus on arts and music as a part of the scientific curiculum for the students. Heavily encuraging students to use their creativity to process the class material through both writing and artistic expression to better retain the information.

in addition to this, there were 4 weekly periods dedicated to the arts, drawing and painting, handcrafts with a focus on fabric arts, and woodworking.

as well as 3 weekly periods with a focus on musical interpretation. two of the periods with a focus on interpreting rythme, language and melody through movement and placement. the remainding one with a focus on sounds and instruments.

2006 – 2013 Public school

Starting fall 2006 I attended the Norwegian public school Wilds minne skole. During this time I did voulentear work: culture host and student council.

Culture hosts are assisting in welcoming of school guests, carry equipment, and intruducing them to the student body before their lecture or performance.

Student council students are responsible for voicing the opinions of their class to the school administration. They attend monthly meetings with the school principal and other administational school employees, as well as the student council representatives from every class of the school.

Personal Description

Positive and outgoing woman with a wide curiosity and love for everything playful. I love picking up new skills and hobbies. My favorite things to spend time on includes jigsaw puzzles, rollercoasters and themeparks, sudoku, rollerskating, dancing, music and board games.

I am a very social person and believe to be someone who sees the best in everyone I meet. Definitly very talkative, but working hard to be a good and intentive listener simultanously. Firmly belive in the value of teamwork and that the best ideas and results are made when everyone feel seen, heard, respected and are allowed to contribute with their strenghts.
